
What remained
Uzeyir Hajibeyov passed away in 1948, but his music and his school live on. His name became a synonym for Azerbaijani music itself.
The memory of the composer is kept by a house-museum, a conservatory bearing his name, monuments, stamps and, above all, his sounding works.

In Baku a house-museum of Uzeyir Hajibeyov is open, preserving his grand piano, manuscripts and personal belongings. It is a place where the composer's music sounds especially close.

The Baku Music Academy bears Hajibeyov's name, he has been depicted on stamps, and institutions and music festivals are named after him. His legacy is the foundation on which the whole field stands.
